People often ask me why I use copper for my jewellery designs. To me copper is an amazing metal that is truly alive. Over time it slowly changes into a deeper colour, adding character and personality to each piece I make. That is one of many reasons why I enjoy creating with it. No two pieces ever stay exactly the same, as the metal develops its own unique patina and story.
Known for its warm, reddish-brown glow, copper has been used in jewellery-making for centuries. Its timeless beauty and rich character make every piece feel unique and full of warmth. But copper is loved for more than just its appearance. Throughout history, it has been associated with a variety of healing properties, including helping to reduce inflammation and ease arthritis symptoms. Some people also believe copper may offer antimicrobial and anti-fungal benefits, improve circulation, and support the body’s natural detox processes.
Whether or not all of these benefits are scientifically proven, many people simply love the comforting idea that the jewellery they wear could be beautiful and supportive of their well-being. And honestly, that makes copper even more special. 💛
