IDEAS

Inspiration is everywhere: in nature, in my memories, journeys, emotions, dreams and mostly my imagination. Only when I actually start creating, one simple idea could provoke a chain reaction of other great ideas…

TECHNIQUES

Trial and error are really my best friends! I’ll try and learn new techniques whenever I can. At times based on the kind of materials I wish to use. More often because a technique is simply intriguing and inviting!

  • EXPLORATION

Sawing, soldering, forging, plating, wrapping, 3D printing (yes I own one of the first models, including laser cutter/3D scanner!), art clay silver, chain mail, casting, carving, filing, drawing, beading, composing etc.!

  • CREATION

The world is my oyster! And I’m thankful that my creative mind knows no boundaries and is like a mad scientist and alchemist at once: eager to explore and create new compositions and try new experiments.

House Of Lustre is owned by Tess, an artist jeweller (and urban sketcher) who loves to create one-of-a-kind pieces of jewellery.

Her work combines natural raw elements -which compliments her love for nature- with high-tech materials and the latest trends and techniques which reflects her geeky side.

“I try to work on my projects as often as I can but some of the techniques I use are very time-consuming thus progress can be slow, especially when I have a weird design idea that I’d like to explore (which is quite often).”

“A few projects found a home straight away therefore aren’t listed in my portfolio. Others made with a particular person in mind -usually someone close to me- were a gift for a special occassion.”

“My techniques vary often, depending on my mood, ideas and materials I’d like to work with that very moment. I can be totally focused on a particular technique for months, challenging my creative boundaries.”

    House Of Lustre
    Art Jewellery

House Of Lustre is a quirky jewellery label with an artistic eye for detail and a hunger for unusual design. Launched in 2010, we don’t follow fads and rules but create our own and try to outrun the mundane at the speed of light. House Of Lustre has evolved from the need to create and explore. Being an ‘artiste récupérateur’, we’re currently exploring and working on an intricate Kintsugi technique!
